Privacy & limitations.
Your sketches stay on your device
This first release uses browser localStorage to save profile sketches and preferences on your current device. They are not uploaded to a Norman Online account or a Norman-operated backend. Clearing site data, using private browsing or switching devices can delete or hide saved work. Export a JSON backup for anything you want to keep.
No registration or tracker in this package
The private development workspace has a server-side username/password sign-in gate; the public product pages do not require signing in. Sign-in sessions use a securely signed HTTP-only cookie. It has no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or server-side sketch storage. Your hosting provider may still handle routine connection data, such as IP addresses and access logs, under its own policies.
Technical limitations
Profile Studio models an open 2D centreline polyline with points in millimetres. DXF export writes that polyline in millimetre coordinates; it is not a developed flat pattern, a finished sheet-metal part with thickness, or a validated bend programme. Material and thickness fields are informational only, and are not applied to DXF geometry.
Do not use these sketches directly for manufacture, pricing guarantees, machine control or safety-critical decisions without independent engineering checks. The web preview does not include bend allowances, tooling selection, collision checking, press-brake setup or gauge validation.
Independent preview
Norman Online has a public information website and a server-protected development workspace. It is a separate sheet-metal software project. The associated Windows application, other projects and their private source code are not shared through this site.
